Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has reacted after the selection committee announced the 17-man squad for the five-match T20I series against New Zealand.
Hafeez, who served as the team’s director and head coach for a brief stint, took to his X, formerly Twitter, account where he posted a short four-word message.
“#RIP Pakistan domestic cricket,” Hafeez posted.
Remember, in February, Hafeez parted ways with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as director of the men’s national side.
As per an earlier report by Geo News, Hafeez wanted to meet PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and submit his report about the tour of Australia and New Zealand. However, Naqvi didn’t give Hafeez time for the meeting.
Sources added that the PCB was not interested in working with Hafeez which is why the two parties have decided to part ways.
Earlier today, Pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim, who recently reversed their retirement, were called as Pakistan announced the squad for the New Zealand series.
